A MESSAGE FROM REV. RICHARD E. JAECH,
BISHOP OF THE SOUTHWESTERN WASHINGTON SYNOD

Today, God is ready to do even more. As the writer to the Ephesians says, God is able to do “more than all we can ask or imagine.” We are pleased to call our campaign Deep Roots, New Life.

About Your Synod

The Southwestern Washington Synod of the ELCA spans all of western Washington from the Columbia River in the south up through Federal Way and Auburn in the north, sweeping west around Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula and the Washington Coast. We are 88 congregations and mission starts with approximately 30,000 baptized members. We are home to vital Lutheran ministries such as Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community, Martha and Mary of Poulsbo, King’s Manor, Peace Community Center, and Lutheran Community Services Northwest. We partner with ecumenical ministries, including Associated Ministries of Pierce County and Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, founded by the Lutheran church.

About the campaign

Deep Roots, New Life celebrates the history of God's work through the Church and our Lutheran heritage, and looks to the future as the Spirit leads us to share God's love and grace.
